She teaches various levels of classes from advanced to beginner.  She also enjoys teaching gentle restorative classes that focus on self compassion.  Heather loves to share the joy of yoga with everyone.   Philosophy Yoga is for all.  Everyone can do yoga with compassion for the self.  It is a balance between challenge and self care.  Yoga is calming for the mind, fun for the soul, and transformative for the body as a whole.  Yoga is a union, not only of body and mind, but teacher and student.   The practice of yoga is built on the shared experiences of the two.   The practice evolves as one becomes more aware of their body and mind. As a teacher, I am a facilitator and co-learner, each day learning something new through our experiences together. Let your Yoga Journey Begin.

Elisabeth Andrews -    Elisabeth Andrews is an experienced  registered yoga teacher (E-RYT 500) through Yoga Alliance with over 6 years of teaching experience. She earned a B.S. in biology from Wayland University in Plainview, Texas and a teaching certificate from Sunstone Yoga in Addison, Texas.  While in college, Elisabeth came to a yoga practice as a way to manage stress and anxiety. She will admit that her first class was frustrating ("it's hard to decompress when you're critiquing yourself"), but returned the next week and quickly fell into a regular practice. It wasn't until years later that she was able to identify the powerful change her yoga and meditation practices had on her outlook on life. Elisabeth is passionate about helping others find the same relief. She encourages students to be honest with themselves and to be open enough to acknowledge their limits. Her goal is to create a safe, supported space for her fellow yogis and to help grow their physical practice, as well as their mental practice. Yoga philosophy:  Be the boss of your practice.  You may not be able to control everything in life, but you can control your practice. I stand here as a guide through your practice, but you make the final decision on where you go. Mantra:  "I am what I say I am. My words have power." "I am peaceful, I am calm, all is right in my world and I am well." Quote:  "You were wild once, don't let them tame you." - Isadora Duncan "If you are depressed you are living in the past.  If you are anxious you are living in the future.  If you are at peace you are living in the present." - Lao Tzu

Monique Stewart -    Monique is a registered yoga teacher (RYT) with 200 hours of yoga training in Integrative Yoga Therapy from Sundara Yoga   in Austin, Texas.   Hello! My name is Monique and I was born and raised here in Bryan/College Station.  I had done yoga on my own off and on with DVDs for about 10 years but then came back to it in earnest in 2012 as a way to get some stress relief.  So I enrolled in a class here at Studio Yoga!  But what I found and experienced went much beyond stress relief.  Do you remember a time, perhaps when you were a child, when just moving was more fun than you could possibly imagine?   Exploring all the different ways our bodies could move with curiosity and wonder with absolutely no judgement?  Each movement, no matter what it was, big or small, intricate or jumbled (and sometimes tumbled!) was a celebration.  This is what yoga has brought me to remember.  Any age, any body, has the opportunity to move, breathe and experience wonderful things.   This was all too good not to share so in the fall of 2012, I did a 200 hour yoga training in Integrative Yoga Therapy with Sundara Yoga Therapy in Austin, TX so I could be certified to teach.  And here I am. Oh, and the lovely little redhead sitting next to me.... that's my "neice", Kara, a very exuberant Brittany.  I consider her to be the poster child for "joy through movement" which is what I try to bring to each practice.... minus the barking and digging.

Brittany is a registered yoga teacher (RYT 200) through Yoga Alliance. She recently trained in hot yoga at Sunstone Yoga Academy in Addison, TX.  As an avid runner, Brittany began yoga as a way to prevent injuries and become more flexible. She had dabbled in different yoga classes for about 4 years, including Bikram Yoga, prior to taking her first class at Studio Yoga. It was at Studio yoga that she began to view yoga not only as a form of exercise, but as an outlet. Yoga became her “me” time. It was something she could do for herself, to better herself.  Brittany soon entered an intensive yoga teacher raining program so she could learn how to turn her newfound passion into a career. She studied anatomy, yoga philosophy, yoga traditions, as well as some acro-yoga. Yoga has taught her to challenge herself and that the benefits will quickly follow. With a degree in Kinesiology, Brittany strives to teach each of her students the benefits of the postures both physically and mentally.

We are a Yoga Studio that strives to transform the body, invigorate the mind, inspire the spirit and empower clients to live a better life. Studio Yoga features Hatha Yoga, which is a path of physical control that helps create balance in the body. The word breaks into the syllables “Ha” meaning “Sun” and “tha” meaning “Moon”. Hatha Yoga is the balancing and harmonizing of the opposing forces of the body. Physical postures (Asanas) and breathing exercises are combined to create mindful awareness throughout the body.
